Grover: Ok, the way I see it, if we were an old couple, dated for years, graduated, away from all these scholastic complications, and I reached over and kissed you, you wouldn’t say a word, I mean, you’d be delighted, probably, but if I was to do that now. it’d be quite forward, and if I did it the first time we ever met, you probably would’ve hit me.
Jane: What do you mean?

I love you more than Ira Glass.
Katie Armour of the Neo-Traditionalist just posted this awesome Mrs. Ira Glass tote bag and greeting card found on Etsy. I’m so in love with them!
I have a pretty shameless crush on Ira Glass (and his voice) so I’m experiencing a very strong temptation right now to buy the tote bag.
What I Did in 2010:
This morning I was inspired by a post from one of my favorite baking blogs, Sugar Plum, who wrote about all of the things she did and learned in 2010. I thought it was such a great idea and decided to do the same, see the highlights of my year below the break!
1. Participated and worked in the SXSW Film Festival
2. Ruled the 2010 Oscars with one of my best friends.
3. Graduated from...
Sick Day
My allergies have gotten the worse of me and I was actually sent home by my boss this morning. Boo. So I’ve been napping all day, reading trash magazines, and having a healthy appetite for orange juice and twizzlers.
All I hope is that I get better before New Year’s!
Today I’m wearing my brand new BB Dakota Lamarr Coat I got for Christmas for the first time, and it’s got me channeling a very Margot Tenenbaum energy this morning. I’ve even got my hair pinned back, and a leather book bag to boot.
Someone brought Gak to the office
…and we’ve been making farting jokes for the last ten minutes. Welcome to Adulthood.
Have Love Will Travel
Leaving Austin after a wonderful, wonderful holiday weekend with my family. It’s time to get home to my boys though.

Class Full of Lost Kids
Now that the school year has winded down for a lot of school districts in the country, the educational company I work for has been using this downtime to focus on projects, data cleanup, etc. This morning I was approached by one our the project coordinator’s who asked me if I could make a demo class in our online teacher management system that will be used in product training. Her...

I know fashion tends to recycle itself, but this photo just screams ’80s Power Suit to me I can almost hear the reservations at Dorsia writing themselves down.
Christmas Tag Decorating Tips from Apartment...
The educational company I work for is getting ready for our big office move next week so I’ve been keeping my eye out around the office for discarded Sharpies (believe me, nice pens run like prison currency in office life), staplers, or anything else I can snatch up. This morning I went into our supply closet and saw a huge, huge stack of folders just sitting around waiting to be thrown...

Lost Bet Chocolate Cheesecake
Last week it finally started to get cold in Dallas and I think it’s fairly well known that Texans are not adept at dealing with changes in the weather that aren’t a rise in humidity or the heat index spiking over 104. My boyfriend and I went out for yogurt the other night (we’re aware of the irony) and when we left the yogurt shop my boyfriend began shaking really rigorously in...
Filmography 2010
I love the end of the year when all of the “Best Of” lists start to come out. Even though they all basically contain the same “best” movies/albums/what have you, I really enjoy reading people’s individual reasons for why something is considered the “best of the year.” Below is an incredible video montage of the best scenes from movies released in 2010...

Hand-Painted Cookies
Thanks to Oh Joy! for bringing these gorgeous hand-painted cookies by Maggie Austin to my attention. When I first saw this picture I thought the objects were necklace charms, not cookies! They’re so elegant and detailed I don’t think I could bring myself to eat one.

On The Side: Milk Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
After I had successfully completed the whoopie pies, I had just a little bit of chocolate batter left over. All afternoon I had been craving chocolate, so I decided to make a little something sweet for myself. I took some left over Nestle Milk Chocolate morsels and mixed them into the chocolate batter. I put the mix on parchment paper and let the cookies sit in the oven for about 12 minutes.
